Vacation in the Philippines: How to have Friends in the Philippines

Be smart when visiting the Philippines.

We are a mixture of different races but true Filipino. We may be hospitable, smiling and happy people... but like any normal country there are crooks galore in store for you in the 7,107 islands awaiting for your visit.

Here are some sure fire tips to make friends:

1.) Friends are built on trustworthiness. If you plan to visit the most beautiful places it the Philippines, tap relatives, classmates and friends before landing in our islands.

2.)  Experience staying in a typical Filipino community. It is usually the safest place to stay, but you need to listen carefully and do not be touchy... because sometimes they ask you funny questions...because they too want to visit your country when they have an opportunity.

3.) Be ready to tell stories about the country where you came from. Most Filipinos dream of visiting different places.

4.) Treat a Filipina and Filipino with a lot of respect and courtesy, even if they dress poorly.  They will return the same courtesy.

5.) Be ready to remember birthdays if you are staying in the Philippines, this will seal in friendships.

6.) Study the culture very well to avoid getting a culture shock in the Philippines. Our food is enough to shock any foreign guest... but in the end... they end up liking it.

7.) If you are going in to marry a Filipina or a Filipino - - at your own risk. Most marriages work actually when you share the same "Faith, Belief and Values" in life. Otherwise expect for the worst.

It is best to be good friends before eventually deciding in a serious relationship, that is as friends, and later on maybe as sweethearts, engagement and wedding. Love waits.
