This guide will help you on what to pack for every season you plan to have your vacation rentals in the Philippines.

Travel Light

        Make sure to pack light to avoid extra expense on additional baggage fees in the airport. Quezon City has a lot of malls selling cheap but fashionable clothes and stores that carry all your basic needs from toiletries, food to medicines in case of emergency.

Bring and Exchange Money

Since there are a lot of self catering apartments in Quezon City, it would be easy to find money changer businesses as long as you have US dollars. Make sure to bring enough money whether cash or credit as there are malls everywhere in Quezon City to buy your needs.
Pack According to Season

It’s equally important to look at the month at which you are planning to travel to the Philippines especially to those who have furnished housing one month long. Though the Philippines is a tropical country and has two seasons only, the month at which your holiday rentals fall is important in deciding what to bring.

December to February

The Christmas season leading to the start of the year is the coldest season in the Philippines. Though there’s no winter and snow in the Philippines, the weather can get pretty cold during this season so make sure to bring jackets, closed shoes and thick socks. Scarves are also a good alternative to jackets if you like to have variety of looks.

March to May

Summer falls under these months and the heat is intense during this time of the year. Make sure to bring sun block and wear them all the time when going around. You may also buy good sun block products in malls. An umbrella can also be helpful in keeping yourself from getting sunburned. Bring casual clothes like tank tops, shirts and shorts.

June to August

The rainy season in the Philippines is no ordinary as sometimes there are instances of flooding. Bring  rain boots, rain coat and a good umbrella that can survive strong winds.

September

This month can still be a bit rainy so bringing flip flops and a good jacket all the time outside is important in case rain starts falling at random times in the day.

October

Nearing Christmas, a lot of shopping and sale has started during this month. Make sure to bring a good sturdy bag with you for all your shopping needs. You will go through a lot of walking so make sure you have comfortable shoes like rubber shoes.

November and December

A month away from Christmas, the weather will be pretty cold already with less rain. Given the festivities of Christmas you might want to bring semi-formal and formal clothes.

Beating the Heat

by: Charlene Bolanos Summer is still careening towards its peak. Enjoy while it lasts... Upcoming last week of May will be rainy season... So I usually keep a happy disposition. 1. Make sure you always bring bottled water with you. Be careful of water intoxication, not too much just ...right. 2. Wash your face often if necessary just to cool off. 3. Take a dip or take shower more than once. 4. Always bring freshening up kit:     Baby powder and light cologne that is     not offensive. 5. Bring extra shirt all the time. 6. Wear sun shades and bring an umbrella 7. Wear 100% cotton clothes. 8. Wear shoes or flip flops which will allow air to circulate. 9. Take water from time to time to avoid passing out. Ice Coffee for Summer

by: Mary Ann Bolanos Drinking ice coffee during summer is refreshing. Here is a quick ice coffee recipe: Ice Coffee with Toblerone Chocolote Shreds Ingredients: Instant Coffee. (your favorite brand, you may opt for a brewed coffee). 5 packs for five people. Creamers (preferred is coconut milk or vegetable base creamer) Honey (brown sugar or white sugar is okay. I prefer honey) Crushed Ice Procedure:  1. Dilute instant coffee in 3 c of hot water. Set aside. 2. Once the coffee is a bit cooler, mix with crushed ice. Add honey  to desired sweetness. 3. Serve in tall glass. For Left Over Brewed Coffee 1. Dilute creamer in 1 C of hot water. Set aside. 2. Add brewed coffee to crushed ice. 3. Add diluted creamer. 4. Add honey to taste. 5.
