by: Charlene Bolanos

1. Sari- Sari Store

A sari- sari store is a place where you can buy your basic necessities.

a. Food

     Noodles, coffee, canned goods

b. Drinks

Soft drinks, mineral water and Nestea

c. Toiletries

d. Adhesives

e. Ice Cold Water

2. Fresh Food Mini Supermarket or Stores near the furnished apartment
in novaliches.

  a. 7-11 price is relatively higher than A&W because it is airconditioned

  b. A&W is cheaper than 7-11.

3. Fresh Food Market and Malls

   a. San Bartolome Wet Market

San Bartolome Wet Market has the collection of fresh fish straight from the
sea. This is just 5 minutes away the long term stay apartment in Novaliches.
Vegetables is fresh, but a bit higher than Sauyo Wet Market.

This is just 10 minutes walk from the vacation rentals in Novaliches
or 3 minutes jeepney  ride to get your fresh fish, fresh veggies
        and fresh coconut milk.

First pick is at 5.30 a.m. Just the right time. The fresh market fish is
        open till 9:00 a.m.

   b. Sauyo Wet Market

Sauyo Wet Market has the most affordable fresh veggies and fruits.
It is near the NCLEX where  farmers opt to sell their fresh harvest.

However, time is of the essence, market opens at 5:30 till
8:00 a.m. only if you like to get the first pick, and another
       at 4:00 p.m.

If you opt to buy in some other time, it is also okay, but the
veggies are relatively priced higher already, and fish stocks
are limited, and may not be as fresh as you expect.

This is just 10 minutes walk from the
self catering apartment in Novaliches Quezon City.

  c.  Malls

There are three malls where you can visit to buy your clothes.
If  you are coming in from a relatively cold country -
it is best to leave your clothes at home.

      c.1  Super 888 malls cheapest
c.2   SM Mall a bit expensive but okay.
      c.3  Nova Mall  cheaper

d. Restaurants and "Turo-Turo"

d.1. There are lots of restaurants in the Malls which is just 10
to 15 minutes away the short term stay in Novaliches. From Chinese,
Japanese, American to Filipino cuisine.

d.2. "Turo-Turo" Kiosks sells Filipino food, from fish, pancit (noodles) meat, to
vegetables. Best to buy food that is newly cooked. The "tinderas"
sells in the morning starting at 7:30 a.m. Bring your own lunch
boxes - glass preferably because the food is super hot.
