Philippines Survival Kit: Climbing to the Waterfalls

Waterfalls are popular local tourist destinations in the Philippines.
They’re accessible to anyone and are mostly free to go to.

How to get to the Peak:

For none mountain hikers here are
the steps on how to tone for "the hike":

1. 2 months before "the hike" alter
your diet a bit. More fibers and less fat.

2.  Start an exercise regimen of walking,
then next week running. If you are overweight,
better not go to "the hike".

3. Increase your stamina. Majayjay falls is
peak for non hikers.

Majayjay Falls:

Waterfalls are good alternatives to beaches and
Baguio for weekend getaways during the summer
or when swamped by work. Majayjay falls,
for example, can be found in Laguna, a few hours
away from Manila.

Many visitors arrive for the day with grills or packed
lunches. The waters are ice cold and refreshing.

Clear waters bring comfort, helping you feel
like the water is clean, adding to the experience.
Covered by trees, the cool atmosphere does
not go away, compared to beaches which are
often exposed to the hot sun and hot sand.

Green trees and plants around you remind you that
you are immersing yourself in nature, while you unwind.

Waterfalls are fueled by fresh water, so they are
often subjected to seasons and rainfall.

You may be disappointed to show up to
waterfalls to not find much water around.
The rainfall provided by the approach of
the wet season in the Philippines keeps
a strong flow of water through waterfalls.

June is a good time to visit. Being caught
in the middle of the wet and dry seasons,
June promises an excellent waterfall visiting
 opportunity for many.

Young students would gladly end the
summer with a trip to the falls.

Working? That’s no issue.

Set aside a Saturday for some well-deserved refreshment.

Bring along a few bottles of your favorite drinks
and some lunch to eat, get into a car, then you’re set!

When you arrive, you can submerge your drinks
in the cold water to keep your drinks cool.

Lay down by the rocks and enjoy the view
of the birds and the trees while having the
water flow right on by. Some waterfalls
 may differ.

Smaller waterfalls might not provide
a swimming pool-like experience,
but if you stay under the falls, it will
be like a cold shower partnered with a massage.

You can still bring some food along with you,
and bring some friends as well. Consider a
trip to the falls this June. It’s an accessible
and hassle-free weekend getaway,
which you can repeat as many times as you’d like!

If you are staying at a short term vacation rental
apartment in Novaliches, best to leave early at 4 a.m.
