Summer is Here! What to Wear in the Philippines this March

by: Charlene Bolanos

Summer Wear: Casual Wear

Basically cotton. Colorful t-shirts, skirts (not mini) because of the insects,
a little bit below the the knee (apply lots of insect repellent). Cotton pants like jeans is okay.
Go for half sleeves...choose the feminine cut for girls and ladies.

Summer Formal Wear

If you are invited in a wedding, choose an elegant cotton.... Indian Cotton and designs are elegant for weddings, even if its a Catholic Wedding.

You may also go for Chinese silk.

There are also nice Philippines Cotton, the terno for ladies.

Shoes will be typical: close and heeled if you can carry.

Summer Semi-Casual

Go for pencil colorful pencil cuts with appropriate stockings if you are working in an office.
Go for a below the knee pencil cut. Wearing a super mini and your pockets showing that looks as if its really old is not impressive - even if you want to call attention - it reflects your personality. I always go for the prim and proper for the ladies. I hope all girls and ladies will delete in their vocabulary the "wild" fashionista, it does not really represent the dignity of being a lady.

Slacks is also acceptable, go for the feminine cut, not to loose or too tight for a lady.

Dresses should enhance your face. The problem with showing off lots of skin parts .... is actually distract people to know your inner beauty which can be seen in the eyes. You can only emphasize the face of the person if all other things are elegantly covered.

Beach Wear

Best to have a one piece swim suit that covers the whole body, but with elegant feminine designs for the women.

The men should also go for it.

My reason.... the jelly fish and other little sea insects which can bite.

If you want to get a tan, wear a light cotton dress, it passes through.

Best sun block and sun tan is virgin coconut oil. Your skin will not burn, but it will have an elegant tan color.
