August Preparing for Christmas Reunions
by: Denice Lao
The spirit of giving is part of the Christmas season and this makes December the most expensive month of the year. To top it all, looking for appropriate gifts for each of your family and friends during holidays can be very taxing. Beating the holiday shopping craze can be avoided though.
Here are some tips to save money and energy for the upcoming Christmas season:
• Take advantage of red tags and big discounts. You can start buying and collecting items as Christmas gifts even if December is still months away.
• Just store them in a place where no one can see them. If you happen to stay on temporary housing, you may just keep them all in one box for the moment.
• Buy items in bulk to get a discount. When shopping at bazaars, always ask for the discounted price of items in bulk. If you feel it’s a great deal, buy it even if you still don’t have someone in mind as a recipient. You can always find someone to give it to later.
• Recycle gift boxes, paper bags and ribbons. This is eco-friendly and will also save you a great deal of money and time. Just make sure not to use it on your gift to the person who gave it to you.
• Put a personal and creative touch on your gift. Adding a little something special on your gift wrap can make an impression that you truly value the person you’re giving it to. Let them feel special then!
