Novaliches Quezon City, located in National Capital Region, Philippines is a place where education, business, and recreation combine to form a vibrant and exciting city. This 2014, Quezon City should be on your list of places to go to while you are on vacation! Let me take you around your future destination and show you why.

Summer Events in the Philippines

Quezon City at March to early June according to the national academic calendar is when you have a chance to meet young people with their families. As a result, families are inclined to travel and hang out together more during the summer. Even with these factors, you will still have a good time at Quezon City. If you happen to visit the Philippines at this time, you are in luck, because even if you are in Q.C. you will be invited to go along to the beach and some nice vacation hopping around the country. Just bring enough budget so you can take advantage of the situation.

Starting April and May, a lot of festivities are in store for you, you have the Holy Week, the Easter Sunday, the Flores de Mayo. There are also lots of places to visit, like the famous Catholic Church built during Spanish times. Have you seen the famous Sto. Domingo Church which is now considered as a National Heritage. Visit Our Lady of La Naval, a famous and true story is how the Filipinos prayed for her intercession the whole time during the battle, and defeated the invading naval army. The Filipinos were outnumbered but won nevertheless.

Another event will also occur on May 9, 2014. The United Colors of Comedy Show, a comedy show with musical performances and free flowing drinks will be held in UPD’s Bahay ng Alumni. The event is hosted by UP Junior Marketing Association and Comedy Manila. This is typically held yearly, so watch out for this.

There are also other attractions that are open year round in Quezon City. One of these is the Quezon City Circle, which has a bike track and an amusement park. The Circle is at the end of Commonwealth Avenue, and it is a great place to bring your entire family due to its expansive space and various attractions.


Have you seen the sunflowers that bloom along University Avenue in the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) are beautiful, bright, and iconic. The sunflowers only bloom making it a special sight at the University of the Philippines.

May is Summer in the Philippines! Always bring a water bottle and wear a hat while going around the city. Long sleeves breezy sleeves, like the fashionable India wear can be worn because it is cotton; and is very elegant. You may also opt to wear the typical cotton tee shirt and jeans and rubber shoes if you want to go around at summer time protected from the heat of the sun. . Never forget to put on sunscreen especially if you are going to a park or any other outdoor location..

June to August 2014 Events in the Philippines

June to August 2014 is typically the cooling season in Quezon City. The local government are actually busy maintaining dams during summer time to prepare for the upcoming rain. The rain is very important for the residents of Quezon City because it produces electricity for the whole city. The campaign of cleaning the streets are gaining ground. Quezon City aims to provide  nice places to visit, like the Eco Park, La mesa Water Shed and Park in Lagro, the Ninoy Aquino Jr. Parks and Wild Life, the Quezon City Circle where you can visit the famous organic restaurants-and at the side a delicious store of coconut ice cream.

26 June 2014 is a blocked off date for the commemoration of St. Josemaria Escriva Holy Mass celebration at St. Therese Cathedral near the International Airport.  Hear the sermon of the invited Bishop or Archbishop and gain deep insights on how to leave your Catholic Christian life as a lay person...and also experience the famous Stella Orientis Choir, headed by Filipina Russian Conductor who is famous for her rendition here and abroad. Seats are usually full 3 hours before the Holy Mass starts. First come first serve basis when you attend this Eucharistic Celebration. Everybody wears a semi-formal attire or smart professional casual attire when attending this celebration.


There are also many shopping malls in Quezon City for those who prefer the urban lifestyle. Some examples of these malls include Trinoma, SM North Edsa, and Eastwood. Each mall has different shops, both local and international as well as a cinema, restaurants, and other entertainment facilities.  August is the best time to shop for your Christmas 2014 already to avoid the Christmas rush.

September 2014 to October 2014 Events in the Philippines

September 2014 to October 2014 is typically the preparation for All Saints Day and Christmas together.
Most families opt to have a vacation week starting 30 October till 3 November 2014. This is to give way for family reunions in praying for the members of the family who passed away.

The celebration is not a typical Halloween week, but a celebration of Holy Mass to gain indulgences; and at the same time reunions galore and time to meet friends ...yes...not only at home but in the cemetery! There are also lots of actors and actresses hanging around as they also too visit their beloved departed relatives. So...do not forget to get a camera, and make that famous snapshot.  Holy Cross Memorial Park is jampacked! Its good to however experience it, and see for yourself.

November 2014 to December 2014

November 3 till December 2014 is actually a super hectic schedule because its Christmas preparation! The Filipinos are actually having their last check Christmas listings, and typically Christmas gifts are distributed as early as 1 December 2014, Christmas party celebration typically starts on the feast of St. Nicholas, December 6.  November and December is when there are nice and cool events for family and friends, signaling the count down for Christmas.

If you plan to have some conferences int the Philippines cool months starting November till February is the best time; except December though its spring pleasant weather, is when the streets are typically full of people coming in and out of the country for the long awaited Christmas vacation.

As you can see, there are many wonderful tour places you can visit in Quezon City. Before visiting these places, however, you also need to prepare for the environment in Quezon City.
