During cool weather, dust mites likes to linger at bed covers, pillow and blankets, walls and even clothes. Here's how: 1. Make sure your bed cover, blanket and pillow case  is changed twice a week. 2. Your room must be cleaned daily. 3. If you have a heater in your home or a dust mite vacuum, make sure the room is heated or vacuumed regularly, at least once a week. * Most furnished apartment have housekeeping services. You may request to have a housekeeping regularly with an affordable add on. * Most furnished apartment in urban areas are self catering, so its good to clarify that you will need housekeeping services every now and then. 

How to Cook a Chicken Soup at the Onset of Fever Flu

by: Mary Ann Bolanos Ingredients: Broth Chicken: 1 whole 1 Bulb onion 1 whole garlic Salt Pepper Ginger (1/2 tsp minced) Boil chicken until cook and tender. Strain to have a clear broth. Lemon Grass Soup 3 T of Virgin Coconut Oil 7 pieces of garlic heads 1 onion bulb Chicken Soup Broth (from fresh chicken) Optional: Noodles or macaroni Carrots diced (2 medium pieces) Onion leaves or leeks. 1 boiled organic egg. Procedure: 1. Boil the chicken to make a broth. Measure 2.5 C per person. Add in 1 bulb onion cut and 1 whole garlic, salt, pepper.  Add in washed and cleaned lemon grass. Bring to boil for 5 minutes. Then take out lemon grass. 2. Wash egg with soap and water. Roller boil egg whole with its shell in 1 cup of water  and 1/4 c of vinegar until cooked (3 minutes for hard boiled egg). Let it cool when cooked. Take out the shell and set aside. Soup: 1. Saute 7 pieces of garlic heads, minced onion bulb,  chicken meat shredded. 2. Add in noodles or macaroni 3. Boil for 8 minutes. 4. Ad

However rain and cool weather also attracts flu viruses. But never fear, because in the Philippines we have a technique on how to avoid flu! All you have to do is follow this simple steps: 1. Always have "clean living" . Physically, spiritually and emotionally. 2. Always wash your hands before eating or if you are a medical person,  every time you examine a patient. Or if you are taking care of a sick member of the family, take precautionary measures. Best to have another one replacing you if you are tired already. Sleep, and take necessary vitamins and minerals to keep you going. 3. Always take a warm bath every time after resting for awhile before and  after work. 4. by: Mary Ann Bolanos Famous Pinangat from Bicol Pinangat is a native recipe in Bicol Region. This is the favorite of many, even among first timers. Cooking pinangat has different variations, depending of whose Lola (grandmother) is teaching. So this recipe is from Tabacco Albay, a town in Bicol famous for hot springs from the famous perfect cone Mayon Volcano. Ingredients: Fish (river fish or Hasa-hasa or galunggong) or caviar and/or smallest shrimps Taro leaves or commonly known as "gabi leaves" Fresh coconut milk (please do not us powder coconut milk...) Old coconut water shreds of coconut. Tip: the taro leaves must be totally dried. The best tasting taro leaves (gabi leaves) are those which were dried in the heat of the sun during summer time.
