Philippines Culture: Celebrating Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday is a big day and will be celebrated for another fifty days. Easter Season is a day of great joy because it is when the heaven is open for all of us who like to be with God in heaven. It was closed for some time when our first parents, Adam and Eve committed the original sin. The resurrection of Jesus, three days after his death for our sins, is being celebrated during Easter Sunday. It also holds a deeper significance if viewed alongside Jewish traditions that were vital at the time of Jesus.   Jesus died at the same time as the sacrificial lambs were being killed in preparation for the Passover, an important Jewish festival. Lent Preparations

by: Aileen and Marty  We are nearing the last stretch of Lent, then Easter Sunday. Lent is a season when you really bond with your family especially during the Holy Week, in preparation for Easter Sunday. Lent for us is actually a time of prayer and penance in preparation for the big gift God has in store for all of us, the Redemption and Resurrection. This great give is commemorated at the Holy Mass daily. Here are some tips to perk up your Lent: 1. Make sure you go to confession. Nice places to go to confession are where there are air-conditioned confessional boxes or fresh air confessional boxes. 2. Attend the services. There are choirs, and families in the Philippines who are attending. Enjoy the classic choir songs. A really piece of heaven on earth. Make sure you are dressed appropriately. 3. Take advantage of visiting the tabernacles in the different Churches  on Holy Thursday. Take time to pray and reflect the greatest Love of all. 4. Prepare for Easter on Holy Saturday. 5. Pre
