Image
by: Mary Ann Bolanos       We have tasty street food in the Philippines.  In Novaliches, there are lots of kiosks at night or at lunch time that serve hot street food. So if it is your first time  here are some tips on how to enjoy street food: 1. Make sure the food is newly cooked and served hot. Freshly Hot Cooked Bulalo  (Filipino Beef Stew) 2. Check hygienic standards. 3. Always drink bottled water, bottled juice drinks unless it is a freshly opened coconut fruit to get a fresh coconut drink.       If you plan to eat halo-halo, clandestinely check the surroundings, and see how food is being handled, if the standards is okay with you... enjoy your Halo-Halo! Best Halo Halo I ever tasted in a small kiosk in the Philippines!        Halo-Halo is a famous Filipino dessert made up of fresh gulaman, sweet kaong, nata de coco, ube, sweet beans (red and white), sago, pinipig, langka, fresh milk in crushed ice with ube or vanilla ice cream. Toppings your choice: barquillos or sweet nuts.
